When the weather is windy, large trucks are at a higher risk of tipping over. Drivers need to be aware of the conditions that can lead to problems, so they can pull over an wait out a storm or dangerous conditions. When they don't do so, accidents like this one can take place.
Fortunately, this accident didn't result in any deaths, but others like it could. This shocking story is one you don't hear often. A family from Colorado survived a large semi truck rolling onto their vehicle. They had been in traffic driving on Interstate 70 when the semi-trailer began to tip onto their vehicle. There had been high winds that day, which threw the trailer off balance.
Inside the vehicle, the driver and his wife noticed the trailer tipping. The semi then rolled onto the vehicle, which held the two parents and the couple's 1- and 3-year-old daughters. The mother of the children talked to the news about what she was witnessing, saying she watched as her children were nearly crushed.
The father spoke to the news about the collision and stated that the trailer fell slowly onto the vehicle. It crushed the roof and collapsed it, coming down near the 1-year-old girl's head. Surprisingly, the little one didn't suffer any injuries, nor did her sister or mother. Their father suffered a concussion as a result of the collision, which dragged the family vehicle over 100 yards.
Crashes like this could be fatal for the individuals in a smaller vehicle. If this happens to you and you suffer injuries, you can seek compensation for the incident.
