Explosion injures several in Aspen Thursday February 3rd

Multiple people were injured in an explosion at a mansion under construction on Thursday, February 3rd. Two people suffered severe injuries. Emergency dispatch received a call at 2:26 pm Thursday. 

When responders arrived they found a floor of the home had fallen through, the walls were down and windows had been blown out of their frames.

The dispatch call for an Aspen ambulance referred to the event as a "gas explosion". There was no explanation Friday for the source of the explosion.

Agents from the Federal Alcohol, Tabacco, Firearms and Explosives office in Denver were on scene to assist with the investigation.
