Particularly in the summer, it's important to watch the roads and to look out for construction teams, slowed traffic, red lights and other indications that you need to slow down or stop. When you don't slow or stop when you are meant to, there's a possibility that you could cause a serious collision.
That's what happened in this case. Fortunately, no one was killed, but three people were injured. The accident happened when a driver allegedly passed through a red light.
The driver, who was in a pickup truck at the time, crashed into a construction truck that was on South Academy Boulevard. The construction truck's driver had been trying to turn onto another road.
The pickup truck driver had been moving south on Highway 85/87 when the crash happened. He was not wearing a seat belt and was severely injured. The police have indicated that drugs and alcohol may have played a role in this collision.
The two people in the construction vehicle were also injured. Their injuries were reportedly minor following the crash.
Situations like this show why it's so important to watch the road. Whether it's a result of distractions or daydreaming, not paying attention can lead to you running a red light or stop sign, putting your life and the lives of others in danger.
If you are struck by someone who runs a red light, you have the right to pursue a claim. You should not have to pay for your medical bills or other financial losses, since the other driver is responsible for the crash.
