When dangerous drivers get behind the wheel, they put everyone at risk. If you've been in an accident with someone who was intoxicated, then you know how dangerous driving under the influence can be. You may have thousands of dollars in medical bills and be facing a long recovery; the person responsible should have to compensate you for your injuries.
The people involved in this accident may want to consider that option, because many were severely hurt in this collision. A man has been arrested for a DUI that caused a crash on Bijou Street in Colorado Springs. According to the May 31 report about the incident, the accident involved two vehicles on the Bijou Street Bridge. Four people were injured, with three suffering serious injuries in the collision.
The accident took place at around 3:19 p.m., when a Chevy Camaro collided with a Toyota SUV that was turning left onto the ramp for I-25. The driver of the Chevy was taken into custody after police found that the driver had been reportedly speeding before the accident took place and that the driver was allegedly driving under the influence. The alleged combination of traffic violations had caused the driver to collide with the other vehicle. He has been charged with several traffic violations as well as vehicular assault for the injuries he reportedly caused the other driver and passengers involved.
The driver of the other vehicle was ejected from the vehicle, and two others were trapped inside the vehicle. Although three people suffered serious injuries, the reports indicate that they are expected to survive.
