Motorcycle rider dies in Accident with Colorado Bus

As gas prices have climbed, a number of people have looked for ways to save money on their morning and evening commutes. One way that some people may have approached this issue is by riding a motorcycle to and from work each day since they are typically more fuel-efficient than cars. Although motorcycles can limit fuel costs, bikers are constantly at risk of being involved in an accident -- which may be especially true in high volumes of traffic.

Fatal 4-Car Accident Kills 3 Near Moab, Utah

The fatal accident took place around 3 p.m. nearly 30 miles south of Moab, Utah on August 16, 2013.  David Lewis, age 28, was driving a Nissan Maxima headed southbound on state Route 191 and attempted to pass an 18 wheeler in a restricted passing zone which resulted in a head-on collision with a Hyundai Azera.  The Nissan Maxima went spinning down the road where it was hit by a northbound Cadillac DTS sending the Cadillac onto the shoulder to a stop.  The deadly accident killed 3 people.  All four people in the Nissan Maxima were from Saginaw, Texas.  From that vehicle, 27-year-old Stephanie Vidales was ejected and died along with her 54-year-old father, Juan Vidales, who was the front seat passenger.  The third loss of life occurred when a passenger of the Cadillac DTS, 69-year-old Arthur Loewen from Perry, Georgia, was killed on impact.  The woman driving that car and another woman in the backseat were also seriously injured both of whom were taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado by helicopter.

Will proposed trucking regulation cut costs?

Long hours and thousands of miles on the road can cause commercial truck drivers and their vehicles to become physically worn down. Unfortunately, both create a safety hazard for other motorists on the road. This is why the federal government regulates semi-truck safety inspections and the number of hours truckers can spend behind the wheel.
